Our Purpose

Our purpose is to worship God, proclaim the joy of the Gospel, and build mature followers of Jesus Christ.

Our vision is to fulfill the Great Commission by seeking the lost, and growing mature, joyful followers of Jesus Christ.

We desire that everyone be grounded in God's grace, know and reflect God's Word, and equipped to minister to each other, the community, and the world through their spiritual gifts.

We accomplish all of the above through our Sunday School, Youth Group, Bible Studies, Outreach Events, Mission Support, and our regular Worship and Preaching.

  • Alan Johnson

Pastor Alan Johnson is the pastor at Community Church of Joy. Alan previously served at Maple Park Church in Lynnwood, WA as the Director of Youth Ministries. While there, Alan finished both his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington and his Master of Divinity from the Lutheran Brethren Seminary.

Pastor Alan has a passion for communicating the gospel. He desires to see believers go deeper in their faith and understanding of what God has done for them through Jesus Christ. As the understanding of God’s love for us grows, it empowers us to share that love with those around us for the benefit of our neighbors and the glory of God.

Pastor Alan is married to his wonderful wife Cheryl, who is a nurse at Seattle Children’s Hospital. They have two children, Elsie and Monroe.
